Transition Program

of the Military Cyber Professionals Association

The Transition Program of the Military Cyber Professionals Association (MCPA) works to educate and support service members who are transitioning from military to civilian life. Just as it takes months or years to fully transition a person into a fully functioning military member, it takes a similar period of time and effort to transition out. We are committed to serving all veterans to the best of our abilities.

Emulating veterans who helped Hank transition, a few months after he retired from the Marines, he began working to serve other veterans in transition. Initially operating as “HankBrown.org”, he authored a “Lessons Learned” (living) document and began speaking during the lunch hour at local transition classes to service members who wished to give up their lunch hour in order to hear from one of their own about the experience. Hank built a team of a half-dozen volunteers who help with planning, making connections, and putting on a quarterly mixer that brings veterans in the industry together with veterans in transition.

In 2017, Hank rolled his efforts into MCPA in order to bring more visibility to MCPA while using the MCPA platform to scale the support to veterans in transition. As MCPA chapters around the country mature, Hank will help them bring their own speaking series and industry mixers on line.
